Meet Kat

Favourite Discipline: Swimming… definitely swimming!

Favourite Food: This is hard. One food… dates?! Or broccoli, or mars bar before a race!

Favoutite Quote: “What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?” or in a race: “thought about stopping, then ran harder”

Greatest Personal Achievement: Whenever a client tells you they’ve got a PB, suddenly found swimming clicked and felt great, or won a race that they didn’t expect to. Seeing their hard work pay off is a fantastic feeling.

Greatest Sporting Achievement:  Medalling at European and World AG champs, and winning Challenge Samorin half distance as fastest amateur female.

Best Thing About Working For Challenge Tri Camp: Seeing guests each week achieve more than they thought they could, and getting a tan!

About Kat

Kat…With a background in competitive swimming, Kat was tempted once to try open water swimming following her studies at university and despite her initial reservations fell in love with it, entering and winning her next triathlon. She had found her new sport!

I’m proud to have been part of the GB Age Group team every year since I started tri and won medals at Europeans and World races, but it’s not just about the results, I love the process of training, racing and setting a goal and working towards it.

Now as a coach I get to share my experiences and help others whether they are just starting out in the world of tri, or are an experienced athlete striving for the podium. Everyone has different goals, and creating a training plan that works for each individual, their lifestyle and their motivations is what drives me and pushes me to keep learning. Everybody is different and I love getting to know all my athletes, and helping them enjoy the process of achieving, and exceeding, their goals.

What Kat’s Athletes Say:

Working with Kat has been great, motivating and encouraging but hard on me at times as well to make sure I stuck to my goals.  i did ask her to keep me to my word of hitting the number of sessions I wanted to each week and she sure did!  The individual sessions were planned for me and achievable and rewarding.  I would recommend Kat to anyone wanting to improve in triathlon – her passion for it is huge and we even got to race at the same event – she beat me of course but didn’t stop her cheering me on as she raced!

Delighted with the swim and run. I was really feeling it on the second half of the run. Couldn’t have done it without your help :-). I will have a beer tonight!
Andrew, London

Kat is a proven racer, but most importantly is technically very good and a patient coach. I really enjoy our sessions and value them highly.  Nick C, Ironman Kona age grouper 2016
