Camp Description:

This week is all about getting you ready for middle distance events whether this is your first experience of the distance, or your looking to improve on your time, Tri Camp is perfectly located with the Mallorca half route on our doors step. Specifically designed coaching sessions develop your stamina, technique and confidence in all three disciplines. Coached pool and open water swim practice, long distance bike rides, and seminars on fuelling and recovery, ensure you leave feeling race ready for this infamous distance.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

The price of this training camp is £749, included for that is:

  • 7 nights half board accommodation
  • A structured, fully coached training program to follow throughout the week
  • Coached pool and open water swimming sessions with video swim analysis and one to one feedback
  • Core and stretching sessions
  • Access to coaches for informal sessions/feedback

ITINERARY OVERVIEW: 

This week is about getting some out on the bike using a range of terrains and routes to help prepare you for a mid to long distance event. We have ride options every day and ensure we cover the Mallorca 70.3 half ironman route within the week.  Swimming all coached includes almost daily dips in either the pool or open water covering all swim skills. We also make sure those that want to get to swim up to and over race distances in open water.  There is a long run within the week as well as a technique session and options to run off the bike on several rides.

WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Mallorca 70.3 bike course covered, together with fantastic mountain rides with 90km distances covered

  • Designated speed and strength sessions to work on middle distance racing across all three sports

  • Coached open water and pool swims with options to swim up to the half race distance

  • Supported long runs to simulate race intensity and pacing, options to run 21km

  • Long brick sessions to work on ‘jelly legs’ with advice on how to run off the bike

  • Time to work on and practise race day nutrition strategy, with advice on fuelling

THE HOTEL

The hotel is located 2 minutes walk away from the local beach and sand dunes and on the run route for the Majorca middle and long distance triathlons.  The camp accommodation includes high standard en suite half board rooms in our beautiful 4 star hotel.  All rooms are apartment rooms which include a twin bedroom with separate living/dining room and kitchenette. Most rooms face out on to the main pool area or across the nature reserve.  The hotel includes a 25 metre outdoor heated swimming pool, an indoor gym and full spa facilities with hot and cold therapy baths.  Food at the hotel is a buffet style breakfast and evening meal with a large selection and choice to suit everyone’s needs.  Inside and outside eating areas are available as well as an adult only dining area.

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • Flexible payment options are available on request

  • To secure your place a non-refundable deposit of £250 per person is required (final payment due 10 weeks prior to arrival date)

  • Price based on two sharing a twin apartment style room – we will endeavour to pair you up if required 

  • Single occupancy is an additional £40 per night

  • Non athlete accompanying an athlete will receive a £100 reduction on the cost of a 7 night stay
  • Price based on half board accommodation (evening drinks not included)

  • Three sharing a room options are available on request

  • Flights, transfer and bike hire are not included (contact us or visit our FAQ page for help with these)

I came to the Challenge Tri Camp middle distance week to get ready for my third 70.3 event and found it very useful.  It allowed me to get a good bulk of training time in while getting help with my swim technique and also an added bonus of transition practice – I didn’t think I needed help on this but learnt a lot in that session.  I enjoyed the whole week and felt the balance was right with adequate rest time.
