Camp Description:

Whether your experienced over these distances or looking to do your first this week is designed specifically for preparing for mid to long distance triathlons. Improve your skills across all three disciplines, particularly cycling, as we ride the hills of the Tramuntana mountains, cover long distances in the saddle, as well as runs off the bike and of course lots of open water swim practice.  This week aims to improve your endurance, technique and knowledge for racing over the fun yet challenging longer distances. 

WHAT’S INCLUDED

The price of this training camp is £749, included for that is:

  • 7 nights half board accommodation

  • A structured training program to follow through the week

  • Progressive cycling sessions with experienced coaches

  • Pool and open water coached swimming sessions with video swim analysis and one to one feedback

  • Running sessions to improve technique, endurance and speed

  • Brick sessions (runs off bike)

  • Transition training

  • Core and stretching sessions

  • Access to coaches for informal sessions/feedback

  • Secure bike garage for storage and building bikes

ITINERARY OVERVIEW: 

The week includes a long coastal ride, an inland mountainous loop, an in and out of Palma ride, a time trial effort session and what we like to call the hilly ride!  So lots of riding! Its up and down but the training effect and the views are worth it. On top of that we have runs off some of the bikes as well as a track session and a long off road run.  The Swimming includes two pool and two or three open water coached sessions incorporating technique and endurance.  We have a mid week rest, well recovery day which has an easy optional run/swim on it if you fancy that or you can hit the beach or read a book by the hotel pool.

WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • A focus on long rides with mountainous routes to build strength and stamina

  • Video swim analysis to access technique and identify areas for improvement
  • Coached open water swims with options to practice all swim starts, exits and sighting techniques with long swim options

  • Supported long runs to simulate race intensity and pacing, along with brick sessions to work on ‘jelly legs’ with advice on how to run off the bike

  • Specific strength work session to assist long riding/running ability

  • Advice and practice on the practical side of race strategies, fuelling and hydration 

  • Transition practise and tips

  •  Basic bike maintenance tips and training

  • Evening seminars on topics such as training load, preparing for racing, nutrition, pacing and scheduling exercise

THE HOTEL

Our hotel in the heart of Paguera provides guests with a wide variety of routes for swimming, cycling and running around, and is a short distance away from beach, bars and restaurants. Only 3 kilometers from the mountains for cycling, and home to the Challenge half distance triathlon event, Paguera is a great spot for training. A two-minute walk from the hotel provides a choice of two large beaches and plenty of places to practice open water swimming. Hotel rooms offer Tri Camp guests spacious accommodation complete with kitchenette and reception controlled bike storage.  A 15m leisure pool is available on site for drill work whilst our 25m training pool is just a 5 minute walk away. Paguera is only a 25 minute journey from Palma airport.

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • Flexible payment options are available on request

  • To secure your place a non-refundable deposit of £250 per person is required (final payment due 10 weeks prior to arrival date)

  • Price based on two sharing a twin apartment style room – we will endeavour to pair you up if required 

  • Single occupancy is an additional £40 per night

  • Non athlete accompanying an athlete will receive a £100 reduction on the cost of a 7 night stay
  • Price based on half board accommodation (evening drinks not included)

  • Three sharing a room options are available on request

  • Flights, transfer and bike hire are not included (contact us or visit our FAQ page for help with these)
