You roll out of bed (late as usual) and rock up to your morning run group just as they are starting the hard intervals. So you join in. These guys have spent a good 15 minutes plus warming up at the start of the session but more fool them because you managed to sneak in an extra 15 minutes of glorious undisturbed sleep.

At Challenge Tri Camp we are so lucky to work with and coach fantastic athletes of all abilities, some just starting out on their triathlon journey and some that achieve a longer term goal, which is what happened this weekend.
Are Sports Massages worth the Money and Time – or should we just foam roll and put our feet up in front of the TV after a hard session?
Weekend Round Up & Team Relays – A hot weekend for our athletes in Nottingham at the triathlon relays and in France as well it seems.
We had two athletes racing over the channel, one at Ironman Vichy and the other at the half distance event at the Chantilly Castle series

As a coaching team we put this information together about Lausanne for our athletes last month to help them with race preparation and have had lots of people ask for it and wanting to know more, especially about the bike course and the climbs you will have to do.
Triathletes frequently strive to be the best they can be, not missing a training session, pushing their bodies to the limit on race day looking for improved performance, buying the latest kit but many do not apply the same discipline and focus to their diet. Perhaps you have tried putting yourself into ketosis, veganism or various versions of intermittent fasting without really understanding why you are doing it, if it is best for you as an individual and still not managed to achieve your ideal race weight or still struggling with an underlying health issue. This blog may shed a little light on why this may be and how to find out what is best for you.
Wind, rain and a bit of sunshine over the weekend for our team athletes.
So we are coming towards the end of the season and some of our team and coached athletes are either winding down and doing some races while still fit after they have achieved their goals and done their ‘A’ races while others are still building up to the big one’s before the season is over. It was however a quiet weekend of racing with lots spending the weekend training, we know we had some on 3 plus hour turbo sessions, some doing 5km swim sets and others running in the mountains…however here is what those racing got up to!
Transitions. If you’re going to do a triathlon there’s no avoiding these funny areas full of very expensive equipment that are essential when transforming from a swimmer to a cyclist or a cyclist to a runner. It’s a very bizarre experience the first time you venture into one, especially if you come from a single sport or not a sporting background at all.
Amazing weekend for Challenge TriCamp with 3 coached athletes at Ironman Hamburg and all finishing strong. The two girls Sarah and Judith completing their 1st Ironman event, what a great achievement. We have enjoyed the journey with them and in our next blog will be getting the girls to tell us more about their experience so look out for that if your thinking about joining the long distance club!
For whatever reason you’ve decided to sign up for a triathlon and good for you because running around the streets in Lycia is all the rage at the moment! It’s a fantastic sport and welcomes everyone from complete newbies to professionals but we realise it can all be a bit daunting….
So Last week one of our coached athletes asked me why and what the benefit was of the swim set I had set them, great question so this was my response:- A bit of info on 3-5-7 etc breathing to help, hopefully this will help explain why its important and what to do ready…
