I have been on three camps now and have had coaching from Nick. I was apprehensive about my first camp as I was unsure of whether I would be good enough but I need not have worried as all abilities are catered for. The coaching and feedback are brilliant and I have got so much faster from taking it all on board! Facilities, hotel and food are all great and I have spent a week with a lovely bunch of like minded people each time. I'm already booked on for 2019 and am looking forward to it!

We have just booked Challenge Tri Camp for the third year running. What was a birthday treat has now become a kickstart to our triathlon season. So what is making us come back year on year, well when you love to swim, bike, run you get to do that every day! Making friends with other crazy people who like to do the same! Challenge Tri Camp caters for all levels of abilities from complete novices to age groupers. The coaching team are friendly and approachable. They have a wealth of triathlon knowledge and there is always something new to learn. The hotel, location and facilities are great. It’s amazing how fast a week can fly by, you come home absolutely shattered but motivated for the season ahead.

Challenge Tri camp was my first experience of a triathlon training camp and I can honestly say I couldn’t have had a better experience. The coaches are professional welcoming and really take the time to get to know your needs and plan accordingly. I enjoyed my first week so much I booked a second week and plan to go back next year. I learnt a lot and improved in all three disciplines and can say the camp definitely contributed to my improved performance this season. Special thanks to Nick who spent time in the sea giving me one to one coaching to help me get over my fear of open water and also Jacqui who helped me get more confident in group bike riding in Mallorca and Kat who beasts me on a daily basis 😁

I’ve signed up for my 4th camp for 2019 and am looking forward to it already. Each has been better than the last All the sessions are tailored to individuals and everyone can go at the right pace for them whilst building fitness and improving techniques. It’s a great way to start the season and build your fitness. The hotel and accommodation is excellent too. Highly recommended.

For anyone looking to improve across all disciplines, I thoroughly recommend their camps and clinics. I have been on a few over the years and not only are they enjoyable and you meet like minded people, the coaching is superb. I have made significant improvements across all disciplines and actually have today booked the next one day clinic in January. There is always room for improvement !

What a great week. Superbly organised and coached with sessions designed to feel like I had really worked hard and pushed myself but with just enough left in the tank to do more. All done with a sense of humour and great team spirit. As someone returning to triathlon after many years the team have inspired me to get back into the sport and enjoy it. Hotel and facilities also great.

I went to swim camp this year and have booked again for next year. Hotel, food, bike garage, pool and rooms all high standard. I like to train a lot and the days were full. 2 coached swims and a bike ride most days plus a few runs and some stretching and core in the mix as well., the good thing is, if you want more free time, you can miss sessions without judgement. The quality of coaching was excellent.As a mediocre swimmer I went to camp with two goals, a step change in my swim times and to overcome my fear of the sea. Both goals achieved. On the last sea swim I did a full 70.3 distance swim and my pool 400m time improved by 21 seconds in the week and a further 14 seconds within a month of getting home and putting all I had learned into practice. My stroke was unrecognisable from the video at the start of the camp. I sat with the coach and made sure I wrote down all the coaching points for my particular stroke issues...he was very patient! But it meant I went home with an armoury of drills to practice. I also came away much more confident at group riding and with some fabulous new friends to follow on Strava Highly recommended whether you are looking for a holiday with the added bonus of coached sessions, or as in my case some serious training and coaching in the sunshine or somewhere in between...All are catered for. I loved it. A fabulous fun break doing all the things I love doing with a great set of people

I did the Middle distance camp in April. I am new to triathlons and being my first camp I was initially a bit nervous to go on my own and about the level required but it was all dispelled in the first 24hrs! The camp is organised to cover different abilities and the coaches and fellow athletes were awesome. I came away with great advice and new friends. I would highly recommend the camps and already planning on booking again next year!

I’ve been going to Challenge Tri Camp for several years now, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends or my partner; no matter what, I’ve always had a fantastic experience. Tri Camp coaches have a unique ability to make everyone feel like they are a champion. I keep coming back to Tri Camp because other ones I’ve tried are only geared to a certain age group and a certain level. At Tri Camp, you train with your level, no one is too slow, or too fast, and at meals you all share the laughs, trials and tribulations of training. The end of camp competition is fantastic: each triathlete EACH ONE is given a personalised triathlon - the distances are matched to you and your level. That’s how well the coaches get to know you. Look out for Challenge Tri Camp gear at races and don’t hesitate to talk to the triathlete, I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to talk about Tri Camp. That’s just how great it is.

I’ve done 2 camps. Both were excellent with superb coaches and a great hotel. Groups cover a real wide range of abilities and everyone is catered for. I’ve travelled alone on both occasions and have met people who will be lifelong friends. We’ve already met up back home to train, Race and socialise and are looking forward to the reunion of the full team at the relays in August �

I did the early camp in Feb this year. A great bunch of like-minded people from beginner to elite. No need to worry about ability level; the coaches will make sure you're in the right group. Plenty of mixed-ability sessions as well. Brent and Nick head up a friendly, knowledgeable and experienced team and the coaches are always happy to provide advice and know how to help you hit your targets.

Second year running at Tricamp! Didn't think I could top such a fantastic week last year but this year at a different venue was even better! All coaching was first class and the triathlon event at the end of the week was a real highlight. The coaches were all so professional and the athletes attending the week, though of different abilities, were all catered for! Will definitely be booking another week next year!

Swim, Run & Strength Coaching Clinic

Date: Sunday 27th January 2019
Location:
Northampton

Price: £130 per person

This will be a full day of triathlon coaching, starting with a swim focus morning 2 x swims and video filming covering swim stroke development and correction, this is aimed at all abilities. 
Then leading into a run track session, working on biomechanics, pace judgement, run technique with a run gait analysis.
We will then move over into the Strength and Conditioning studio where we will cover rehab and prehab, including sports specific exercises based around upper and lower body, coaching tips and training processes. Finishing the day with a round up and a Q & A.

 

ABOUT OUR COACHING

Challenge Tri Camp offer triathlon & single sport coaching solutions to athletes of all abilities. We are passionate and committed to providing the best coaching solutions available. Head coaches Brent Perkins and Nick Dunn actively coach and also mentor our assistant coaches. The Challenge Tri Camp coaching process is about delivering evidence based positive results, using bespoke training plans to athletes across all racing distances and for all levels of experience.
We also provide a range of 1-2-1 sessions to help in your triathlon journey from a swimming lesson to a full bike performance test. You don’t have to be a top performing athlete, If you have a goal, no matter what this is, the coaching team can help you work out a structure and plan to achieve your goal. It’s just about you, so your current fitness levels, energy levels, lifestyle, commitments and time available to train are all factored in.
Our coaches are athletes too and our coaching team is highly experienced and fully qualified plus, they’ve trodden the same path as you. Age Group World Champions and BTF Age Group Team Managers, Ironman competitors and ultra-runners we’ve been in your shoes. Having a team around you that ‘gets it’ is as valuable to the process as the miles in your legs. Feedback is important in order to progress as are the numbers.  We work with Training Peaks to deliver your programme and collect your data but we believe verbal feedback is just as important.
