COACH ATHLETE RELATIONSHIP
The Coach athlete relationship is recognised as a key performance factor in today’s modern sporting environment. Like any other relationship it is defined by the quality of understanding, respect, trust and predictability that exists between two people.
We believe in this and this is how it works with Challenge Tri Camp.
A training plan that is bespoke for you using the data we collect from our consultation and your 1-2-1 training day with us. All our Coached Athletes attend a 1-2-1 training day with us at our coaching facilities so the we can establish your base line fitness and your goals. We then set up your Training Peaks account, correct your training zones, and then you are ready to start, with your weekly plan delivered to your phone, laptop to tablet. We make sure you understand the terminology within the plan, the training process and how feedback and changes work, so you get the most out of your coaching. Our methodology and your structured sessions are all designed just for you.

WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
We offer a number of different levels of Bespoke coaching and you can choose which level is appropriate for you, your budget and your training needs and goals.
We consider with you:-
- Goals – This could range from simply wanting to complete a race right through to wanting to qualify for the Ironman World Championships.
- Training Availability – How much time can you dedicate to training and what commitments do you have coming up (we will work out your plan so that it fits your needs).
- Strengths and Weaknesses – This will help us identify areas we may need to work harder on.
- Training Facilities and Equipment Available – Do you have ready access to a pool and do you have things like heart rate monitors and power meters (we can help you with these if not)
Once we have an overview of you today, we then update thIs information and then is added to over time as the athlete and coach relationship builds.

TRAINING PEAKS PLATFORM
TrainingPeaks provides a complete web, mobile and desktop solution for enabling smart and effective endurance training environment – you will always have access to your plan. The platform allows cutting-edge scientific analysis and planning to ensure you get the most out of your workouts. It is used by more than 850k athletes world wide and over 300k coaches in many sports around the world to track, analyse and plan their training needs.
All of our coaching plans include a Premium account allowing you access to much more detail about your workouts. We will programme your personal data into TrainingPeaks and include, heart rate, power zones, run pace and swim pace.
We can analyse your training in fine detail. This includes monitoring your fatigue levels, training workload and overall changes in fitness. Allowing your coach us to balance the training load in order to maximise your training time and reduce the likelihood of overtraining, excess fatigue or injury. Performance Management Chart allows both the coach and the athlete to monitor changes in fitness and fatigue levels.

WE CARE
Our view is that the better the relationship between coach and athlete, the more value the athlete will get out of their coaching. This means that online coaching works best when there is regular communication between the coach and the athlete. Regular communication methods usually include a phone or Skype call. We also communicate via all the usual channels such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Text and Email – whatever suits you best.
All of our coaching packages include coach’s analysis. This means that on an ongoing basis we will review your completed training sessions within TrainingPeaks and make notes and feedback comments for you to see and for us to talk about during our scheduled calls. You will be given access to your own personal feedback webpage where you can review the coaching notes at any time.

CAMP TRAINING WEEKS
We like all our athletes to feel part of family. When ever possible we try and bring our athletes together with out coaching team in both the UK and on our camps. Our training week camps in Mallorca are designed to work with and complement your coached activities and are the perfect opportunity to really focus on your goal for the season. This means that not only will you have your coach to support you but you will also have the rest of the Challenge Tri Camp team! All athletes will be invited to join the closed (and private) Challenge Tri Camp Coached Athlete Facebook group where you will be able to chat to the rest of the athletes going through the same things as you. Challenge Tri Camp also run a number of coaching clinics throughout the year which Coached Athletes have priority access to.

Challenge Tri Camp
I am professional coach working full time with Challenge Tri Camp and have been for over 10 years, I began my sporting career as a runner before moving into triathlon, Over the last 10 years I have coached and worked with athletes working towards there training and racing goals, In 2019 I coached and worked with athletes to win Age Group World & European Championships in both Triathlon and Duathlon and Ironman World championships slots. Getting results is a key Challenge Tri Camp coaching principle, I work very closely with my athletes to prepare for the race. As a qualified coach, a British Triathlon Team Manager, as well as a Certified Training Peaks Coach, and just one of 37 Swim Smooth Coach in the World, I also won Coach of the year 2019-20. I have coached and delivered training camps for Team GB Age Group triathletes working towards team selection as well as athletes looking to becoming a first time Ironman finisher, It's my job to help guide my athletes to achieving personal goals and enjoy there journey. As an athlete I have competed in races of all distances all over the world including multiple Ironman and 70.3's, I also held age group titles and have raced at both ITU World and ETU European level, in the ultra running world I have completed 2 x LAMM 1x RAB MM and in 2019 I completed the Mallorca 5000 SkyRun, but thats far to much about me. 😀

Challenge Tri Camp
I am full time coach working with Challenge Tri Camp and have been for over 10 years, after winning my second age group World Championship Gold medal in 2013 I knew I wanted to finish my racing days on a high and focus on coaching. I knew it was time as I was more interested in helping others than my own sessions towards the end of my training days, I have not looked back since. I get more from coaching and seeing others achieving their goals than I did when racing! I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some great people from complete beginners to professionals. I have helped guide people to their first events as well as recently in 2019 coaching two athletes to Age Group World Champion status. All of my bespoke coaching programmes are designed to the Challenge Tri Camp principles. These programmes although I plan them are a joint effort between me and the athlete and my job is to ensure it works for them, is realistic but also achievable and fun.
